Jerrod's "Just a Wonderin"...
This is a new series in the mind-blowing blog that is Truthiness and we are going to call it "Just a Wonderin"...I'm going to throw out ideas and or questions and I would like you "the people" to respond in a thoughtful manner....
so without further ado...
If you had to have one CD that you had to listen to for all eternity, what would it be...or what one album would you want on your IPOD (you kids and your technology) if you had to delete everything else on the ol' ITUNES...?
Now read the previous question and just insert BOOK where CD applied and answer accordingly...(please don't put the bible...we'll all just assume that's everyone's fave, ya freakin posers...so give me your second fave)
So I can't wait to hear from you wacky people and please know that if I think your choices suck (and I probably will) be prepared for the scathing comments that might find themselves in your Inbox...that being said don't answer this without much thought and fanfare and don't just give answers that you think will please me like eager beavers...I want honesty here people...don't make me go all Dick Cheney at a quail hunt on ya....
have a nice day

i guess I should answer my own question...
on the music it's a toss-up between Jimmy Eat World's "Bleed American" and Dave Matthews "Live at Luther College"...with Wilco's "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot", a close second...there's lots of different reason's for this which maybe I'll blog about later.
For the book...
it's call "BALL FOUR" by Jim Bouton
it's a sports book written in 1970...and it's timeless and hilarious, and it's really unfair to call it a sports book...but I'll talk about that later

Ok, so for my one and only cd it would definitely be between Patty Griffin's "A Kiss in Time" or Ryan Adam's "Heartbreaker". Sorry, I can't say one or the other.
Books... Well, I would probably say "Blue Like Jazz" but that is so cliche' these days that I'll go with "Prozac Nation". I mean, I figure that I might want to kill myself if I can only have the one cd and book and this book gives great tips on how to do that.

Well...you certainly know how to cut to the core of me don't you jerrod? Both questions are so hard!
Now, I think I'm going to cop out like everybody else and refuse to choose only one of each. For CD's I'm calling a tie between Pearl Jam's Cracked Rear View and Dave Mathews Live at Red Rocks with Films About Ghosts in a close second.
The book one's even harder though because it has to be something that you can truly learn from even more so than the music. I don't care if it's cliche....I'm gonna call it a tie between Richard Foster's Celebration of Discipline(cuz that's certainly something I'm lacking in) and the chronicles of narnia. SHUT UP!! I would have said that even if the stupid movie hadn't come out! I love fauns!

For CD's it might be Miles Davis (The Birth of Cool) or Frank Sinatra (Classic Sinatra)
For Books.....well....as Cherry would put it, "Stephanie doesn't read" so assuming that Cherry knows everything...I would probably have to say a coloring book. :)

I think my Cd would be counting crows; films about ghost, or the Ok computer by Radiohead. And my book would be "I kissed Dating Goodbye."
